The APEX Team’s cover of Avril Lavigne’s Keep Holding On will raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK, with the song launched after APEX member Laurenna Eyre lost her mother-in-law to Alzheimer’s disease.
Money raised from sales of the song will support the fundraising efforts of technology company BigHand, where Laurenna’s husband works. BigHand staff voted for Alzheimer’s Research UK to become their chosen charity earlier this year.
Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity, dedicated to making breakthroughs possible in diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure. Dementia currently affects 850,000 people in the UK and 50 million worldwide, yet there are no treatments to stop or slow the underlying diseases, such as Alzheimer’s. That’s why it’s Alzheimer’s Research UK’s mission to bring about the first life-changing treatment for dementia. To learn more about the charity’s work, visit www.alzheimersresearchuk.org
